Stakeholder Advisory Forum
STAKEHOLDER ADVISORY FORUM
Working together to shape the future of organic aquaculture
-
The SelectOrganic Stakeholder Advisory Forum (SAF) brings together experts and representatives from across the organic aquaculture sector to provide valuable external perspectives throughout the project.
By connecting researchers with stakeholders, the forum helps ensure that SelectOrganic's research remains relevant, practical and aligned with the needs of the sector.
-
The SAF plays an important role in supporting the successful implementation of SelectOrganic.
Members provide feedback on project activities, discuss emerging challenges and opportunities, and help identify how project results can best reach and benefit the wider organic aquaculture community.
Their input contributes to ensuring that the project's breeding strategies respond not only to scientific priorities but also to the realities of the sector.
-
Throughout the project, the Stakeholder Advisory Forum will meet twice a year online to discuss key project developments and results.
Discussions will focus on topics such as:
✔ Current challenges for organic aquaculture
✔ Breeding goals for organic production systems
✔ Breeding plans for Atlantic salmon, rainbow trout, European seabass and gilthead seabream
✔ Uptake and exploitation of project results
-
The forum is coordinated by IFOAM Organics Europe and brings together representatives from research, breeding organisations, industry, certification bodies and other stakeholders with an interest in organic aquaculture.
The group builds on the existing IFOAM Aquaculture Forum while welcoming additional expertise relevant to the objectives of SelectOrganic.
