This diverse consortium combines scientific excellence with strong industry involvement, ensuring that the project’s innovations are both research‑driven and practically applicable.
The partnership includes 10 research and higher education institutions, complemented by key actors from the organic sector, fish farming companies, and feed producers. Together, they provide access to a wide range of facilities, breeding populations, and experimental environments essential for advancing selective breeding in organic aquaculture.
This strong and complementary expertise covers all major disciplines required to address the challenges of organic fish breeding—from genetics, genomics, and animal welfare to organic standards, stakeholder engagement, and practical implementation on farms.
